Summer Vacation 2014-Part 1

We had a fabulous summer vacation in August!

First stop: Uncle Philip and Aunt Julie's house in South Carolina
Second Stop: Savannah, Georgia with dinner reservations at Paula Deen's Restaurant, "The Lady & Sons"
Third Stop: THE BEACH - Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Fourth Stop: "The Lake House" with our dear Lindsey Family
Fifth Stop: Reality...Home!

Our van was packed to the ceiling and ready for road trippin! I planned lots of "busy activities" for the road.  We rotated between activities, movie time and nap time.  We are very blessed with happy toddler travelers. Love Love Love them!

Unfortunately our long driving days pretty much looked like this.  Dislike!
However, we are thankful that our play days were good weather days.

Uncle Philip and Aunt Julie's House

On the way to South Carolina we stopped at The Cracker Barrel to eat lunch one day.  We of course had to do a bit of shopping while there.  Our Star Wars loving little boy found light sabers that not only light up but make sounds as well.  Michael was so excited about these...not to mention his little sister and I think Daddy too!   Tyler (Jessica's husband...my awesome new nephew) had fun playing with Michael.

Michael and Ella Grace had the honor of introducing Aunt Julie to the movie, Frozen.  Aunt Julie loved snuggles with Ella and Michael the best I think.

One of Michael and Ella's highlights was riding with Aunt Julie on her scooter.  If Ella wandered off she was most likely trying to ride the scooter!

It was such a blessing for me to see my oldest niece, Jessica, happily married and in her newlywed bungalow.  So happy for Jessica and Tyler.  I don't think I could have hand picked a better mate for her...Good thing God is in Control! We love you Jess and Tyler!

On The Road Again...Savannah, GA here we come and we're hungry...Paula Deen better be ready!

Savannah is a wonderful, historic and quaint town that I fell in love with instantly!  Hope to go back one day for a much longer visit.

Hoecakes were a first for me.  They were served along with cheese biscuits.  Michael and Ella both ate them up. Michael liked pouring syrup on them.

Adam said that was some of the best fried chicken he has ever had...tasted just like his Granny's used to.

We all enjoyed our dinner tremendously!

We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer...super yummy!!!!

Ella and Michael enjoyed Paula's Banana Pudding.

Sad to report that the Peach cobbler was a huge disappointment. :(
