7 Months

Time please slow down! I truly can't believe how fast the time has gone by. My baby boy is already 7 months! He has been a busy little fella too. He is rolling all over the place. He loves to sleep on his side. He has taken a liking to eating solid foods. Peaches seem to be his favorite, followed closely with bananas. He now has to do breathing treatments at home and he does so good with them...doesn't fuss and fight at all, what a sweet baby! He loves to be outside, doesn't matter if he is in the stroller, in our arms, in his swing, or on a blanket...just don't put him on the bare ground! If you noticed our attempt at bluebonnet pictures then you know what I'm talking about. Well, we had an early Easter egg hunt at church, so I of course wanted a picture. We sat him on the ground surround by eggs and he pitched a fit. I don't know if it is the ground that bothers him or us not being down there with him. Anyway, messes up my photo opportunities! :) He is weighing in at a whopping 20 pounds and he has officially moved into size 12 month clothes, not just in pj's anymore. Still only has the two bottom teeth, I am expecting more any day now. He seems fascinated by animals and gets very excited when he is near one. We are going to make a trip to the petting zoo very soon. He continues to be such a happy baby with the sweetest disposition. I am so touched when I hear, "Oh, what a sweet baby!" Or when I hear, "Is he always this good?" and I get to answer, "YES!" We are so very, very blessed.

The attempt at the "cute" picture.

Sweet picture with Aunt Sherry from church at the Easter egg hunt. Michael is smiling at Uncle Moe.

Naomi loves Michael and likes to give him kisses. She is trying to get his attention in this picture.

Bluebonnets

I have so looked forward to taking bluebonnet pictures with my baby, unfortunately my baby did not understand the importance of these pictures. Guess I need to put him on the ground more. Most of the shots looked like this...

We did manage to get a few somewhat decent shots, although you can't see his face too well and he's not smiling, BUT he's not screaming. Hopefully next year will be better and he'll like the bluebonnets!

Big Boy Stuff

Michael has moved into his "big boy" tub and has his first outdoor play swing. So much fun!

Finalization!

Aside from the day Michael was born, Friday, March 25, 2011 is the second best day...he "officially" became ours! Of course in our hearts he has always been ours, but it is so good to have his adoption finalized. We went to the courthouse in Bryan for finalization since that is the court where our adoption agency finalizes.

Hanging out in the hallway before time to go into the courtroom.

Waiting on the judge.

After we were sworn in, our attorney began by asking Mommy questions.

Next, it was Daddy's turn to answer questions, followed by Don (from our adoption agency). Then, Don and Michael's attorney recommended the adoption of Michael.

Listening to Judge Smith. He granted the adoption and then told us that he was adopted when he was 5 days old. He said that we would be blessed as much as Michael. He told Michael, "You have no idea how lucky you are kid!"

First official photo as Michael Addison RICHARDS!

Family witnesses to Michael's finalization. Boy cousins Jordan and Billy were unable to attend, so Michael was the reigning prince for the day as the only boy!

Don and Victoria from our adoption agency. Oh how we love those two!!

6 Months!

At six months Michael is weighing in at 18 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. At his check-up we found out that he has extra large tonsils :(.
He lost most of his hair and now his new hair is growing in. It is hard to tell what color, but it is certainly lighter. He wants to put everything in his mouth, as you can see from his monkey pics below. He isn't doing a lot of rolling over, he can do it, just doesn't do it much. Michael is getting the hang of the church nursery (bed babies class) and is far outnumbered by girls...the only boys are Michael and his buddy Micah. Not only is he in the nursery on Sunday mornings but also on Fridays while Mommy attends Bible Study. We are thrilled that his adoption will be final later this month!! We continue to praise God and are so thankful for our precious son. Our hearts overflow with love.

I just want to chew on my monkey!

THE Favorite

My future's so bright I have to wear shades!

G-Daddy and NaNaw came for a fun surprise visit and brought the much loved puppy dog!

Sitting up more and more without help!

He LOVES to "Stand Up" so big!

First food...not so sure about this! He has had avocado, sweet potato and moving on to bananas. He is slowing getting the hang of it.

Floor space in the guestroom has now become our playroom...until he is old enough to climb the ladder to his secret playroom. (I say 5 years old, Daddy says 3, we'll see...)

Happy Valentine's Day!!

5 Months

Michael Addison turned 5 months on February 9th. I know everyone told me how quickly the time would go by, but man, it's way too fast!! My baby boy is so big. He is wearing size 9 month and 12 month pajamas. He moved into size 3 diapers yesterday. He loves to "stand up" with us holding him ~ I need to get a picture of that. He is full of smiles, giggles and belly laughs all day long. Peek-a-boo is his favorite game. He really enjoys his exersauser now...interacting with the toys more and gets excited when he makes something move. Currently his favorite toys are his linking rings and a giraffe that sings the ABC's. He is so much more aware of his world now. He thoroughly checks out every room we're in, even if he has to practically turn his neck all the way around. Teething has kicked in. He is chewing everything he can get his hands on and we've had some rough nights. When I put teething gel on his gums I can feel two bumps on the bottom...just a matter of time and we'll see his first pearly whites! We are anxiously awaiting the finalization of Michael's adoption. We have our last home study on February 24th and will hopefully soon find out our court date.

Super Bowl time!

We have had some cold days, but Michael stayed warm and toasty!

He is starting to roll over more. I snapped this pic of him sleeping so sweetly on his side during one of his naps.
