To most this just looks like the Richards family now has a swing set. Which we do, but it is so much more than just a swing set. When Adam and I began the great search for a home in Friendswood we chose this one for many reasons, but at the very top of the list was the backyard. We knew someday it would be perfect for our children to run around in and it was big enough for a swing set. We knew we would have children, God placed that desire in our hearts. Little did we know what our journey to children would look like. Our infertility years were heart wrenching followed by the JOY of adoption. Michael and Ella Grace were meant to be ours. We were meant to be their parents. All planned by God, all set in His time. So you see this swing set is so much more to us...it is God's faithfulness to us. God's promise to us, revealed. Kind of like a rainbow is the reminder of His promise to never flood the earth. This swing set symbolizes His promise fulfilled to Adam and Rachel...that they would have children and be parents. Having this swing set in our backyard means that there are children in our home and hearts ~ thank you Jesus!
Tree Frogs arrived to set up and install our swing set during Michael's nap time. I had not said one word to Michael about the swing set. I was hoping it would be complete before he woke up, but sure enough he woke up first. I was feeding Ella Grace a bottle on the couch when he came in the living room all sleepy eyed and he cuddled with us for a while. Then all of a sudden it caught his eye outside the window. He crawled to the end of the couch, leaned over to the window, pulled back the curtain and said with the utmost of enthusiasm, "OH WOW!!!!!"
Giving Mommy 2 thumbs up!
Time to cool off with popsicles...Ella Grace was not a fan!
