Almost Here - Ripe for the Picking

In just 5 short (or long) days we will finally meet our child that God has hand-picked just for us. As my friend recently reminded me, Michael has a GOD STORY. At a Beth Moore event we attended 2 years ago (as we were in the middle of struggling with our infertility) Beth actually spoke about infertility and said, "Blessed are you who what comes so easily (naturally) to others comes Super-Naturally (from God) to you." I have held onto that ever since. One of my Dad's favorite preachers is Adrian Rogers, who is in heaven now. While we were with Dad last weekend, he of course couldn't go to church on Sunday, so we watched Adrian Rogers on TV. He has been gone for 4 years, but he was such an anointed preacher his sermons are still aired. Dad was very moved by this particular sermon, it touched him greatly. I was reminded of something Adrian once said, "Delays are not denials. We cannot pick our blessings before they are ripe." So glad my baby is now ripe for the picking!
I find myself crying all the time. I think I have every emotion possible right now: anxiety, excitement, fear, relief, happiness, sadness (for Brandy), overwhelming joy, you name it, I've got it! I'm sure I will explode at the hospital with the...UGLY CRY! So much for great pictures! ;)
As I await Michael's arrival I spend some time each evening sitting in his room and rocking in the chair. I pray for him, read his books, look at all the cool gifts he has been given and just long for him. He's almost here ~ thank you Jesus!
