Ps.66 "Shout with joy to God...sing the glory of His name...make His praise glorious!...say to God, How awesome are your deeds!...Come and see what God has done on man's behalf. COME and LISTEN...let me tell you what HE HAS DONE FOR ME!...God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer...Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!" After a 5 year journey, we finally adopted our first child! Two years later God gave us our second child!

What a Mighty God!
We had a bit of a scare this week. On Tuesday we went with Brandy for an ultrasound, fully expecting everything to be fine. Brandy had a tremendous amount of amniotic fluid and Michael's stomach couldn't be seen...nor was his stomach seen on the previous ultrasound weeks earlier. So the concern was that Michael may have a swallowing problem and was not swallowing the amniotic fluid. So we prayed and had everyone we knew praying. Well today we went to a specialist that has a super duper ultrasound machine and guess what ~ we could clearly see Michael's stomach. It would fill up and empty, just like it should! THANK YOU GOD!! The doctor checked out everything possible with his ultrasound machine and Michael is doing just fine! He has a head full of hair too! The doctor is convinced the excessive fluid is due to Brandy eating too many carbs and sugary foods/drinks. She has orders to eat protein & veggies and drink lots of water. The doctor also said he will be very surprised if Brandy makes it to Sept. 9th. Our bags are packed and ready! Can't wait to meet Michael Addison!

Showered with LOVE
Here are just a few pics from the BEAUTIFUL baby shower our church gave us today. I'll be receiving the photos from the "official" photographer soon, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek! I just shot a few pics before the shower began on my camera. These sweet ladies worked so hard and I feel so special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart girls ~ I love you!
All of the decorations (cake included) were inspired from Michael's bedding quilt.

Michael's Crib
We (I mean Adam...I assisted) put Michael's crib together this weekend. It was a much simpler task than we thought it would be. The hard work is yet to be done...removing all those silly warning stickers that were plastered ALL OVER the crib. It is going take a lot of elbow grease to remove them!

Can you say tight fit?

Opening the box.

Lots of packaging...what a mess!

The pieces...

The hardware...

The directions...

The assembler...

The CRIB!

What a Feeling!
So I went with Brandy to her doctor's appointment today, and as we were sitting in the waiting room, she took my hand and placed it on her belly. I then felt the most amazing feeling ever ~ I felt Michael move! He is a very busy little guy in there. I also heard his heartbeat again...wow, just an awesome day!
Her check-up went well and the doctor is scheduling Brandy's C-section for Thursday, September 9!! Seven weeks from today I will get to meet my son!
I took her to lunch at Chili's and really enjoyed having girl time with her and getting to know each other better. When we got back to Safe Haven I went in and she gave me another gift. She had received a really cute diaper bag FULL of baby goodies from her HOPE class ~ can't wait to use them all! She is just so generous and a wonderful blessing. Before I left I bent down to her belly, rubbed my baby and told him I loved him. September 9 can't get here fast enough!
Thank you for your continued prayers over her and Michael.

Fortune Cookie
So last week we had lunch with Brandy at a Chinese restaurant. At the end of our meal we were given "fortune" cookies. Brandy opened hers, read it, smiled really big and said, "you can have this one!" This is what it said:
"Organize your life around your dreams--and watch them come true."
Not necessarily saying that I agree with this statement, but it warms my heart to know that she realizes Michael is our dream come true and she is making it happen!

So Blessed!

I am still in awe of God's goodness and Brandy's generous heart. Today we went to her doctor's appointment and she introduced us to Dr. Lockett as the adoptive parents. Dr. Lockett said to us very delighted, "So this is YOUR SON!" We said, "Yes, he sure is!" Our son...wow!! This still seems so surreal to us. Brandy's check-up went very well. We heard Michael's little heart beat...the best sound I have ever heard, next to Adam's I love you's!! Dr. Lockett thinks Michael is going to be an 8 pounder! She plans on scheduling the C-section in either her 38th or 39th week...so that will be either the first or second week of September. I will go to her next appointment with her in two weeks and Adam will go to the next ultrasound with us. Through tears Brandy said to Dr. Lockett, "I want to make sure that they (pointing to us) are given the baby and get to hold him first." We all cried! This woman is amazing and I love her heart.
We took her out to lunch (she wanted Chinese) and then back to Safe Haven. We took this picture, but don't look at me. It was a very rainy day = bad hair day= pony tail. Nonetheless, I do cherish this picture for the love it represents.
